PULSS
UI Prototype
PULSS is an imaginary charity festival designed for young people. The goal of the product is to make information easy to find, from the event schedule and how the charity works, to signing up and getting tickets. This was a solo project completed as part of UI Design Course 1.
The assignment was to design both a web and mobile view for a charity festival website. The core problem I wanted to solve was that most similar websites feel lifeless and overwhelming, too much information and no personality. I wanted PULSS to feel different.
I built the wireframes in Figma, using a mix of existing presets and layouts I made from scratch. The design went through quite a few changes along the way. The client wanted red and blue as the main colours, which turned out to be trickier than expected. Finding shades that felt festive and actually looked good together took real trial and error. With feedback from my teacher and classmates, I eventually landed on the current colour palette and layout.
The hardest part was learning to use components properly and actually applying them throughout the design rather than working around them. I also realised how important good references are and want to spend more time on that before jumping into the design next time. If I were starting over, I would do deeper research upfront and be less afraid to experiment early.
