October 31.
Game
October 31 is a comedy-horror point-and-click narrative game built in Unity. It was made over three months as part of Digital Creative Project 1, a solo project from start to finish.
The main goal was to build a fully working game with a coherent story. Not just a technical demo, but something with a beginning, middle and end that actually made sense to play through.
The most interesting part to build was the cat feeding system and the logic for moving between scenes. Getting those to work smoothly took more problem-solving than expected. I also handled all the photography and asset editing myself, which ended up being one of my favourite parts of the whole project.
I came into this having never used Unity before, so picking up a completely new engine was the biggest challenge. Along the way I also got a lot better at writing story structure and editing visuals. If I had more time, I would make the game longer and add more puzzles and interactive moments throughout.
